Ritz Carlton & Saddle Ridge, Beaver Creek, Colorado Wedding

Living in Florida, but vacationing in the Vail Valley, since the Bride was a child, it was no surprise when the couple chose the Colorado Rocky Mountains to celebrate their union. Fast forward to adulthood, Alissa & Tom, were introduced by the Bride’s childhood friend at their wedding and sparks began to fly. A few years later, marriage plans began and they chose the luxurious SaddleRidge Restaurant, located on Beaver Creek Mountain to host their special day.

Exuding Colorado, rustic elegance with Ralph Lauren designs and commanding mountain views, SaddleRidge hosts one of the largest private collections of Western artifacts. In addition to the unique museum and intimate mountain setting, the restaurant hosts exceptional regional cuisine complemented by an impressive wine cellar. The couple’s inspiration for their wedding day, was to combine rustic elegance with their own special touches. Alissa’s love for alpine nature and florals, and Thomas’s love of anything vintage and western created an elegant, tranquil mountain experience for their family and friends who traveled from various states to join them for their union.

Guests stayed at the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch and nearby hotels with easy access to the weekend events. The Welcome Party was catered by the Ritz Carlton to the nearby historic Andersen’s Cabin. The weather was perfect in the outdoor, aspen, alpine setting situated below the chairlift on Beaver Creek Mountain.
For the wedding day, the couple had an Inter-faith wedding incorporating Christian and Jewish traditions. Before the outdoor ceremony, the immediate family and wedding party gathered in a private room for the ketubah signing ceremony. The ketubah, a ceremonial marriage contract, was hand painted by an artist and incorporated scenes of the mountains and a full moon, as their wedding day was on a full moon. The ceremony took place under clear, blue skies and their chuppah was adorned with floral and the Bride’s great aunt’s table cloth which served as the roof of the chuppah. The table cloth symbolized the traditions, holidays, and the family dining table at which many generations of family have come together.

The Bride spent countless hours planning her wedding and hired a month of planner to coordinate the destination weekend events. Special touches from the Bride included gold foil stamped wedding monogram on their invitations. The invitation suite was assembled into a velum paper sealed with a custom wax seal and silk ribbon. Day-of paper items were designed by the bride, including the wedding program and reception menu. Menus were printed onto linen paper and included mountain sage grass adhered to the menus with the couple’s custom wax seal. This brought a touch of mountain elegance to the table settings. Guests found their seats and tables via a custom acrylic sign designed by the bride.

The Bride’s dress was by Studio Levana, an Israeli design atelier, purchased from Lovely Bride in Miami, Florida. Bridesmaids dresses were shades of blush pink to compliment the bride’s bouquet and wedding florals. The Groom wore a shawl collar tuxedo by Ted Baker with vintage turquoise cuff links, which were a wedding day gift from the Bride and a nod to his love of western art.

Advice to future couples? Savor every moment of your special day. The couple did not have a videographer, and feels couples should considered it, if the budget prevails.
